Rail and Infrastructure
Rail
Brodies continues to be a leader in the rail transport sector. In 2004, we successfully re-let the Scotrail franchise on behalf of the Scottish Government - then acting for the Strategic Rail Authority. The franchise awarded, valued at £1.9bn in 2004, is believed to be one of the Scottish Government's largest single financial commitments.
We also have a strong reputation in compulsorily acquisition work - a significant part of delivering some of Scotland's key rail projects.
Infrastructure
Brodies is at the forefront of some of the largest infrastructure projects. We have recognised strength in key disciplines and specialisms including property, planning, compulsory purchase, regulatory, construction, and parliamentary. We are uniquely placed to provide a first class, comprehensive and integrated land acquisition service.
We have led the compulsorily acquisition work for the land that was needed to open the Stirling - Alloa - Kincardine Railway, the Airdrie-Bathgate Railway and the Waverley (Borders) Railway. This is a new specialism and a significant part of delivering some of Scotland's key rail projects.
