Public Inquiries

Brodies is regularly instructed on behalf of both public and private sector clients to provide support and representation across the whole spectrum of public inquiry work from planning, compulsory purchase and environmental inquiries to fatal accident and judicial inquiries. We also advise and represent clients in inquiries undertaken by parliamentary committees.

We have experience of inquiries into local development plans, motorway extensions and road traffic regulation orders, listed buildings, radioactive substances, wind farms, hydropower schemes and workplace accidents.

Our inquiry team combines specialist technical knowledge with the practical advocacy skills and experience which come from regularly appearing in a range of forums. To that expertise is added the extensive practical and organisation support which is essential to the effective conduct of a major inquiry process.
