Lorna joined Brodies’ land and rural business team in 2008, having previously trained in a rural firm and then spent a year doing rural property and forestry work in a firm in Edinburgh. Lorna is based in Brodies’ Glasgow office and acts for a range of estate and farming clients across Scotland, but focuses primarily on business in the west, Argyll and the islands. Her upbringing on an Argyllshire dairy farm gives her real practical insight into farming businesses and a genuine interest in rural issues.
Lorna is experienced in a range of rural property matters including the purchase and sale of farms, estates and woodland, agricultural holdings, fishings and trust and executry conveyancing. She has a good working knowledge of agricultural support schemes and land reform and also deals with a number of compulsory purchase and utility matters for landowners.
