Jennifer Muir is an Associate in our Land and Rural Business team in Aberdeen. She grew up on the family farm in Orkney and remains closely connected to the industry. Jennifer has considerable experience of advising rural businesses of all types with a particular focus on farm businesses. She deals with a wide range of rural property and agricultural issues including diversifications such as wind farms and hydro schemes. She understands the agricultural support schemes and is a member of the Agricultural Law Association.
Jennifer's other areas of expertise include advising clients on establishment, restructuring and dissolution of farming partnerships. Her role covers the full range of rural property work, purchases, sales, leases and servitudes. Jennifer has also represented land owning clients affected by Compulsory Purchase Orders at the AWPR Public Local Inquiry as part of the team of legal representatives for affected parties, and had a similar role in the Public Local Inquiry for the upgrade of the A90 Balmedie to Tipperty. More recently she has been involved in assisting with issues arising from accommodation works in relation to on-going utility and infrastructure projects. Jennifer is passionate about the rural sector and has an excellent understanding of both the legal and commercial challenges faced by farming and rural enterprises.
