Decarbonising heat is a key focus for Scottish Government over the next decade as part of the pathway to Net Zero by 2045. Increased deployment of low carbon district heat networks is expected to be a significant part of the solution. Therefore the Heat Networks (Scotland) Bill has been introduced to regulate this growing sector.

This session covers:

  • An introduction to the Heat Networks (Scotland) Bill and the regulatory framework it creates;
  • What the Bill means for social housing providers as both operators and customers of district heating networks; and
  • The wider policy context for heat decarbonisation including the current Heat in Buildings Strategy.
