Community

Our projects in the community have a simple objective - to support the young talent, often overlooked or disadvantaged, who will shape the Scotland of tomorrow.

For the Scottish Schools Swimming Association, which encourages the sport among our young people, Brodies is a title sponsor of national championships across Scotland throughout the year. Scottish swimming is known for its world-class reputation, with many of today's stars, including our own former Olympian Kirsty Kettles (née Balfour), having risen through the ranks. But swimming is not just about healthy competition - it's about team work, improving basic health, and having fun in the process.

Our support of school artwork projects allows young people to exhibit their work in the firm's Glasgow and Edinburgh offices; artists and families attend a private viewing of their work which is showcased for clients and staff alike. Talented young dancers gain a wider audience too through our support for Edinburgh's Telford College.

We also encourage and support all our people to get involved with projects and charities. Our Charities Committee matches funds raised for charities and actively supports the voluntary work undertaken by all our staff. We help dozens of charities of all sizes, including well known organisations such as Maggie's Cancer Centres. Many of our staff take a lead: partner Duncan MacLean, for instance, helped direct a group of teenagers on a three week trip to Kenya where they will both work with about 100 children in a children's home and school for AIDs orphans and also carry out practical work around the home to improve the environment for the children.
