Brodies has raised more than £167,370 over the past eight years for Maggie’s Centres throughout the UK, and has chosen Maggie’s as the firm’s official charity partner until 2020.
Maggie's runs a network of cancer caring centres throughout the UK which offer high quality, evidence-based psychological, emotional and information support to people diagnosed with cancer and their families.
In September 2015, Brodies was the headline sponsor for the first ever Maggie’s Culture Crawl Edinburgh, a 10 mile twilight walk around the Capital to raise funds for the charity. Those taking part visited iconic buildings and discovered cultural, architectural and artistic treasures along the way. Brodies’ sponsorship of the Culture Crawl enabled over £63,000 to be raised for Maggie’s Edinburgh, with many of our staff volunteering to help support the event and talking part in the sponsored walk.
In addition to our firm-wide fund-raising events for Maggie's, our staff take part in a wide range of other charitable activities, which include the annual gruelling Ride the North challenge, a 173 mile cycle from Inverness to Stonehaven, which last year raised over £5,700 for Maggie’s.
“Everyone at Maggie’s is absolutely thrilled to learn that Brodies staff have once again voted for us as their charity partner for 2017 to 2020. Brodies has supported Maggie’s since 2006 providing the vital funds which enables us to support thousands of people affected by cancer. The future of Maggie’s depends on the support of businesses like Brodies and its employees.
"The firm’s outstanding fundraising efforts, which last year included the sponsorship of first ever Maggie’s Culture Crawl Edinburgh, are invaluable. We look forward to continuing this long-standing partnership with Brodies and working with staff across Scotland to deliver exciting opportunities for everyone to get involved in. Thank you Brodies!”
